About Us

Chicken Rocket focuses on safety and reliability. American made means it meets American standards.

The Chicken Rocket was created in Louisiana in 2002. It was designed, by a chef, as a better and healthier way to cook chicken on the grill. The chef had been making "drunken chickens" using the well-known beer can method. He found that the paint on the aluminum cans would melt off, and the can itself would become unstable due to the high heat. With his knowledge, the chef designed this cast iron device that can stand on its own, hold and cook the chicken, and withstand the heat.

In 2006, a long-time customer offered to take over the business. The new owners moved the Chicken Rocket brand to Florida, and the brand has remained there ever since.

Our mission is to provide a healthier and safer option for grilling. We are a company that delivers built-to-last equipment, and we work with our customers to help them succeed. We demonstrate this by being a supporter in the local community by giving back to youth sports and US Veteran led charity organizations.

How The Chicken Rocket is Made

Since 2006, The Chicken Rocket has been crafted at a cast iron foundry in Aliceville, Alabama. This foundry has been launching rockets through the help of distributors across the United States for over 15 years.

The Chicken Rocket takes about 8 hours to make. The molten cast iron is poured into a mold, which is where the rocket takes its shape. The rockets cool down, and the sharp edges are ground down to be safe to handle without gloves.

After they are crafted, the rockets are coated with oil to protect them from rust. This coating is what helps season the cast iron and make it last. Once they are coated, the rockets dry before being packaged for their new homes.
